We've had this discussion at work.. Your right, there are only two people who can win this election. However, if more people voted for the guy they liked the most; and not just the best Democrat or Republican; we could do away w/ this two party system we currently have. Voting for "one of the other guys" will not help w/ this elections, but if more people did it..I think it would help in the long run....

Basically, Larry, you're right that these people clearly prefer style over substance. They don't even know what they're fighting against - they make stuff up to have something to fight against. And, with so little knowledge, they then attack anyone who provides substantive arguments against Obama.

The sad thing is, it looks now like style will probably win over substance. Baseless, obviously false and proven false attacks work with enough people that clearly true questions raised are viewed as baseless attacks.

I'm worried for our future.

The future looks pretty bleak regardless which candidate gets elected.

Which is the lesser of two evils?

I'm still undecided on who I'm going to vote for.

Both sides have things that appeal to me. As well as things that I'm against.

DING! DING! DING!

Hell, Perot actually had a chance and would have done even better if people actually voted for who the though was best instead of who they thought might be able to win.

On this you and I can actually, basically, agree.

The future under McCain looks like a rough gravel road - uncomfortable and not the most desirable way to travel. The future under Obama looks like a rutted, muddy logging trail overgrown with thorns and holly trees running alone a steep cliff with a monsoon raining down on us. Neither is the way I want to go, but I can see which one I'll take if I have to take one or the other.

Just imagine if there were 45 million people who liked candidate X, but voted for McCain/Obama because "they are the only ones who can win"...

How many people do you think are voting for Obama because his polling numbers are up and he's "going to win"? Do you think there is a portion of voters who are voting with momentum because they want to be on the "winning" side?
