Congress hits record-low 9% job approval

Congress hits record-low 9% job approval, President improves to 29%

Job approval ratings for Congress hit a new record-low of 9% this month, with fully 50% of likely voters giving Congress “poor” job marks. Before hitting a new record-low this month, favorable job approval ratings for Congress had stagnated at 11% since returning in June to the previously record-low job performance numbers Congress hit in October 2007. The Democratically-controlled Congress earns positive ratings from 12% of Democrats, up from 10% who said the same in July, while Republican approval has fallen to 8% from 13% last month. Job approval ratings for Congress have also fallen among political independents, down to 6% from 8% in July.

Sheesh ... they can't even get 12% from their own party

and we're possibly looking at the super-majority tri-fecta???

We just need Jimmy Carter riding the 18% morgage rate horse in to save the day

Chairman Obama will not like this. He is for change, but Polisi is crapping all over the US economy, in such a short period of time, it will be astounding if there is one left by election day.

I hate the super-majority-trifecta. It was horrible when the GOP had it and it'll be just as horrible if the Dems get it. Please oh please, if Obama wins the Presidency, we need at least one chamber going GOP.

are the democrats such idiots that they would give their democrat run congress a 9% approval rating, and then turn around and claim they want not only a democrat congress, but a democrat president to go with them?

seems that if you wanted change as much as they claim, they would be all for voting in a change of power into congress.

I am not so sure this poll really means anything other than something for the conservatives to crow about.

9% approval rating should mean torches and pitchforks on the capitol steps BUT nearly every incumbent will get re-elected.

Right.

So that "approval rating" means nothing - if The People really disapproved, they'd vote their Congresscritters out of office. Collins Bailey is probably getting excited, thinking this low approval means he has a chance in Nov. But hold the phone, Collins: just because voters are disgusted by Hoyer doesn't mean they'll actually get rid of him.

Please, sir, may I have another?

Absolutely! Folks biotch about pork spending, but only if it's not coming to their district! Cut the other guy's spending, not mine.

None of these bums will get voted out of office.

And after this election there will be MORE democrats in the House and Senate. and the country will be led, unabated, by the three amigos.

Pelosi, Reid and Obama.

You think things are screwed up now, just wait.
