Obama - Those Who Oppose Higher Taxes Are Selfish

Or perhaps, All-Knowing One, they prefer to perform acts of charity on their own instead of running it through an inefficient government bureaucracy?

Political Punch

Commentary:

This reveals the basic underlying philosophy of the Left - that one cannot possibly be charitable unless they use the government to redirect their funds. Obama assumes that people who don’t want to pay higher taxes are somehow “selfish”, but that’s only true if one assumes that the so-called rich won’t do anything else with their money except sit around like Scrooge McDuck, counting it constantly. Most people today invest it, which creates jobs, or spend it, which creates even more jobs, or donate it to charity — which works much more effectively and with much less overhead than filtering it through government bureaucracy.

Those who earn the money want to direct it in the manner they see fit, in the most efficient manner possible. That’s not selfish, it’s just common sense. Only someone in love with government power could see it as anything else.

Just look at how little the Leftist politicians donate to charity. Biden was somwhere in the $3500 ballpark. Look at Obama's aunt living in public housing in Boston, his half-brother living in a shack in Kenya making a dollar a month. The Left wants the Government to raise taxes so that they don't have to take the time to help the people in need. They don't want to work to help the poor, they don't even help their own family.

I want low taxes so that I can give money to charity myself, at least I know who is getting it. Also donate time and talent.

I wonder if jesus II has ever figured out that unless everyone makes exactly the same regardless of their contribution to society or the work place, there will always be somebody at the bottom that cant afford the things that the people at the top do.

there is no way to get rid of poverty, the only thing you can do is to raise the level that poverty is marked at.

Even then there will always be people that blow their money on crap and not be able to pay their bills.

And let's not forget if you oppose higher taxes you are unpatriotic too.

That’s what happened in the 1990s, that’s what we need to restore.
So, he's going to create another dotcom era? I mean THAT is the only thing that made the 90s economically great. There is not stinking thing Clinton or the democrats did to make this happen. It was nearly purely a market-driven event. I would argue that it was the taxcuts of the GOP-controlled Congress that was the catalyst for this.

So, BO is right... we need to restore taxcuts. We need another great invention; another Bill Gates. Raising taxes is government selfishness.
