MSNBC Retracts False Palin Story; Others Duped

Yeah right, they knew it and reported it because it was good for NObama, idiot Network!!!

MSNBC Retracts False Palin Story; Others Duped - FOXNews.com Elections

Network runs correction on air after reporting an adviser to John McCain had identified himself as the source of an embarrassing story about Sarah Palin, information stemming from a hoax.

MSNBC was the victim of a hoax when it reported that an adviser to John McCain had identified himself as the source of an embarrassing story about former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, the network said Wednesday.

David Shuster, an anchor for the cable news network, said on air Monday that Martin Eisenstadt, a McCain policy adviser, had come forth and identified himself as the source of a FOX News Channel story saying Palin had mistakenly believed Africa was a country instead of a continent.

Eisenstadt identifies himself on a blog as a senior fellow at the Harding Institute for Freedom and Democracy. Yet neither he nor the institute exist; each is part of a hoax dreamed up by a filmmaker named Eitan Gorlin and his partner, Dan Mirvish, the New York Times reported Wednesday.

The Eisenstadt claim had mistakenly been delivered to Shuster by a producer and was used in a political discussion Monday afternoon, MSNBC said.

"The story was not properly vetted and should not have made air," said Jeremy Gaines, network spokesman. "We recognized the error almost immediately and ran a correction on air within minutes."

Gaines told the Times that someone in the network's newsroom had presumed the information solid because it was passed along in an e-mail from a colleague.

The hoax was limited to the identity of the source in the story about Palin -- not the FOX News story itself. While Palin has denied that she mistook Africa for a country, the veracity of that report was not put in question by the revelation that Eisenstadt is a phony.

Eisenstadt's "work" had been quoted and debunked before. The Huffington Post said it had cited Eisenstadt in July on a story regarding the Hilton family and McCain.

Among the other victims were political blogs for the Los Angeles Times and The New Republic, each of which referenced false material from Eisenstadt's blog.

And in July, Jonathan Stein of Mother Jones magazine blogged an item about Eisenstadt speaking on Iraqi television about a casino in Baghdad's "Green Zone."

Stein later realized he'd been had.

"Kudos to the inventor of this whole thing," Stein wrote. "My only consolation is that if I had as much time on my hands as he clearly does, I probably would have figured this out and saved myself a fair amount of embarrassment."

FoxNews, by far, was deemed the most watched and fair network for campaign coverage. MSNBC (NBC) was clearly in the tank for BO. MSNBC showed themselves to be inaccurate on the routine basis and folks like O'Reilly pointed this out time and time again. Yet BO was elected. They must've been doing something right. Who can explain this crazy phenomenon?

Change.... It all comes down to that. Politicians promise change all the time, but when Obama said it, not only did he sound sincere (benefits of natural charisma, which dwarfed McCain's charisma, which is one step above an eggplant's), but he is also a literal physical manifestation of change. And after 8 years of W (who - let's be honest - sucked) people are desperate for real change.

So, if anyone can exact change it's gotta be this guy, who is literally unlike the previous 43, right?

Personally, I don't expect a lot of change, and based on MANY of the things he's said, the change he will bring about will be geared toward Marxism - which is not something that I look forward to.

I seriously hope he rocks it out as president, I do. But I get a sneaking suspicion that I'm going to be looking anxiously toward 2012.

We can make all the excuses wewant to make , but the fact is Obama is President elect because we had a piss- poor candidate, and we all knew it, but it was all we had.

We need to stop the first primary from being in New Hampshire and having those Yankee turds get first pick. Its almost like having the Democrats pick our candidate.

I'm not sure I completely agree with this. If you look at the popular vote (52.7% - 46%) McCain didn't do at that bad. When yo look at the county-by-county vote it is predominately red. This election boiled down to demographics. I'm not all that certain any of the GOP candidates that were up would have made any difference.

Karl Rove chalks it up to :

1. 4 million Republicans didn't vote.
2. Higher than average black vote, which went for Obama and
3. McCain got a much smaller percentage of the Hispanic vote.
4. Higher percentage of Democrats showed up.

They don't check a damn thing if it's in the favor of liberals,
That's why we have a bigger gap in what's know about BHO's life than Christ's.

Jindal is the only hope for the GOP; the others listed will never get a majority behind them with their worn-out views that lost this election. And Palin is even worse...
NH either went red or just missed. ask Hillary what happens when states hold primaries outta order!
