Bailout and Corporate Sponsorship

IS anyone else confused by all this "bailout" as I am? I understand the ramifications if nothing is done. BUT why isn't there some "accountability" being required.

Perfect example is CITICORP. They are begging for tax payer help from the government but yet will not relinquish the coporate sponsorship for the new Mets stadium in NY. How many million/billions are they spending on that?

Seems to be the government ought to be able to set some requirements for budget overhaul and that would be one item to go right after all the private planes, etc.

After what AIG did when they got the bailout money, I think all parties should enforce the true meaning of accountability.

While at it, make them pull their sponsorships in NASCAR, dirt tracks, hockey, Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, etc, etc.

Of course all those things would fall flat in a minute and that's even more money being lost.

Great idea.

I work at a racetrack and they rely on sponsors more than you think. We took a big huge giant hit when Torco flopped.

You want to see sports complexes that put money into the community, into community and school based sports programs and the like go down, alright.

What else is there in Charles County? A few bars?

alright.

kids, get ready for the end of booster athletic programs.

Racetracks going down means a sharp increase in street racing.

Ballparks like Regency Furniture Stadium going down means a loss of jobs, a serious loss revenue, another loss of a place to take the kids, and so on...

but its not your jobs at Pax River going down so you don't give an eff.

Coor's Light sponsors down at MIR and at Old Dominion. In fact, ODS depends on Coor's Light and NASCAR.

Think its bad now? Just imagine what would happen if righties like prchjrkr got their way.

Everyone would be stuck working at McDonalds for $5/hour.

Not every town has a military base and massive amounts of government jobs.
