And that "unleashed" comment was for his benefit as well. But you've been sucked in...so enjoyit as if were all yours.

Happy Thanksgiving, all of you.

...no, I'd be happy to see a potus govern as he was elected to do so. Bush did NOT.

Happy thanksgiving to all as well!

Obviously, there is such a position as a "president elect". Mostly we have referred to the podium and "official" seal of the president elect. It's not the same seal as are all the other "official" seals of the government officials who give their "official" speeches. Look up the SECDEF, SOS, or other such official seals - they all look similar to the official Presidential Seal. Not like the baby blue & cutesy "new age" graphics on the one Obama is using. It's the just hokey and presumptuous looking.

"Understand where the vision for change comes from, first and foremost," he said. "It comes from me. That's my job, to provide a vision in terms of where we are going and to make sure then that my team is implementing [that vision]."

The Messiah has spoken, now you Washington insider lackeys and lobbyists jump to it and figure out how to get it accomplished!

When will he take five loaves of bread and two fish and feed the nation?

Talk about Kool Aid!

...let me make this perfectly clear: There are things Barack Obama has said during the campaign, including his conversation with Bill O'Reilly, that make it profoundly evident that he is very intelligent and FAR superior intellectually to George Bush and things he's said that give me...hope...that he will act effectively and properly in the national interests of the United States.

However, HOWEVER, when I take him to task over some of his selections in people it has NOTHING to do with playing 'gotcha' with him; I WANT him to succeed. My issue is that many of these people, including Emmanuel, I do NOT see in their resume nor their rhetoric, I do NOT see them as being people who WILL act in what I see as the national interest of the nation and the American people. I see them as party HACKS.

I don't want him to be a hack. I WANT him to do well.

You’re dragging me down this same old road of “But, bush turned out to be such a disappointment”. Bush disappointed me on so many different levels, but the one thing Bush didn’t disappoint me with is his focus to stay in the fight no matter how unpopular it got. I think it kept his country safe. We can beat him up all day long about how he screwed the Iraq war up and his out-of-control spending ; but not one bit of that is worth a damn to me without our security. He did that right. So what I thought I was voting for in ‘00 and ’04 is rather moot from that standpoint.

Define succeed. Do you want him to succeed at universal healthcare? How about ensuring the right of a “mother” to kill her failed aborted child? How about raising taxes on the “wealthy” (whoever that is on any particular day) and spreading that wealth? How about the fairness doctrine or pulling out of Iraq prematurely? How about invading Pakistan.
