Obama warns Rep quit listening to Rush Limbaugh

WASHINGTON -- President Obama warned Republicans on Capitol Hill today that they need to quit listening to radio king Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration.

"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.

One White House official confirmed the comment but said he was simply trying to make a larger point about bipartisan efforts.

"There are big things that unify Republicans and Democrats," the official said. "We shouldn't let partisan politics derail what are very important things that need to get done."

That wasn't Obama's only jab at Republicans today.

In an exchange with Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) about the proposal, the president shot back: "I won," according to aides briefed on the meeting.
"I will trump you on that."

A day or two ago FNC showed some bits from an interview Rush did with Hannity, and the one I thought was best spoke to the fact that what made America the great country that it is was not more government and its associated laws and policies, but less government and people enabling their freedom to create something better.

So I'm not surprised in the least that Obama wants to shut Rush down, because such talk as that above is poison to the very fabric of Democratic politics.

Rush's comment did make me reconsider Obama's tag line "Yes We Can". Many people apparently forgot or never knew they had the power until Obama reminded them. The way things are going, more and more people seem willing to give their power over to the government all while the individual progresses toward weaker self-reliance, ingenuity, and courage. And if folks just stop listening to Rush they'll never realize the shift, sure.

Common theme with Dem administrations; they have trouble with their cabinet picks and they fear Rush Limbaugh. You would think that, like Bush and given the results, they would be down on there knees and say 'thank you!' if those two people are our leaders.

Does he intend to inform the Democrats of this, or is it only the Republicans that are supposed to be bi-partisan and play nice?

What does he suppose is the meaning of "opposition party "
Does he in his Harvard educated brain think this is going to be a Duma or rubber stamp congress?

Obama knows the Republicans are down, he has come along at a time when most Republicans in the Congress are cowards and he is just telling them they have to kiss his butt to get along.

Unfortunately many of them are willing to do just that.

The Arrogance of this illegitimate President is unbounded, and why not? Didnt he just get sworn in as President without proving he is qualified? He ran one of the biggest bluffs in the history of this country and got away with it.
