And for at least THAT much, he was right. We took a beating in the Balkan wars because we didn't want to put feet on the ground. We managed to blow up some schmuck in a Chinese building accidentally, because we didn't want to risk American lives to do it right. It takes courage of conviction to follow a course of action to certain death.

I don't like the man. I think he's personally a nasty person, and his failing as a political commentator is that he takes some things very personally. Somewhere along the line, someone busted him up and he's become somewhat misogynistic. Somewhere in his life, religion pissed him off and now all religions piss him off. It's not rational thinking, it's knee-jerk reaction which masquerades as intellectualism, because it's said calmly.

People who act that pissed off about things have a chip on their shoulder for a reason.
