| Nationalisation of everything of consequence. Oil, Health Care, Education, Auto manufacturing, Cap and Trade on the rest. Obama is a fast track to becoming the micro manager of everything important in the United States and the Congress and Steny Hoyer are allowing him to do it. The democrats--alway power mad--are making no effort to hide the takover of America by the Democrat party, AND, they are paying people such as ACORN to help. How can we call ACORN a volunteer organisation when the government sets aside 5 Billion dollars to fund them, and Obama wants them to participate in the Census? Wake up America or you wont recognise your homeland in 4 years. |

| Return of flatbelly | Well yes it does but when the party in power keeps paying off its constituents and increasing their numbers then it makes it pretty hard to vote out the shysters. Lemme find that quote I'm thinking of... Although we are a representative republic and not a democracy, you get the jist: A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to complacency; From complacency to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.

The GOP failed to offer and deliver on fiscal responsibility thus there was NO economic reason to support them. None. They made the excuse "Well, it was for national defense..." and the Dems are making, in essence, the same argument now "It will better the nation...". So, when it boils down to excuses for poor leadership, if nothing else the new guy is a change of flavor even if it's still a shyt sammitch. The GOP failed to deliver on entitlement reform, sound energy policy and, most glaringly, national defense, getting us stuck in not one but two nation building schemes, an idea that was anathema to Republicans depending, it seems, on whose idea it was. I think the voters would do a fine job given better choices.

| Return of flatbelly | But the money machine is NEVER behind the better choice. This is a sound bite world and image is everything and if the package looks slick enough then it must be good right?

If 60 some odd million will vote for a president who will have a net affect on their personal finances of $1,000's of dollars, even for the most common of us, in terms of tax impact, jobs, home values, the stock market, then it is conceivable that those 60 million just might check out WonderPol.com and donate $10 or 20 or even some sort of quarterly amount, say $25 a quarter, $100 a year. That means you or me or Vrail or Nonno or Andy could rake in the money necessary to compete on a national level ABSENT the parties whose primary goal is their own interests. 60 million people. $100 each. $6 billion. It can be done.

I thought you didn't buy "what ifs". What can be done and what is feasible are usually different, and especially here.
