Obama's speech in France today

Anyone catch it? I am usually annoyed by democrats but rarely am I enraged. Today I was enraged. My president went to France and badmouthed his own country and talked about how we should look to Europe's history of leadership.

Charles Krauthammer just savaged him and it was so eloquent and well put I almost cheered out loud.

Quote:
European leadership?

The Europe that had a raging civil war erupt in the Balkans and didn't lift a finger until we did?

The European that watched Saddam go into Kuwait and didn't lift a finger until we did?

The Europe that sits back and watches up pour $600B into keeping open and protecting the sealanes?

The Europe who has sucked our tit for 60 plus years?

Those comments are outrageous. I did not vote for Obama but was willing to give him a chance. The chance is up and he proved my first imprssion to be correct. He is the most disgusting president that this country has ever had. He doesn't deserve a capital P for president.

It's still a little early to tell the Obama followers "I told you so!" but it's coming. Obama is twice as arogant as Bush was and he's spending more, causing problems faster than any President in recent history. Give it a little time. Give Obama a little more room on his leash. HE will soon hang himself.

Obama is going to go down as a pretty bad president but don't tell his zombies that quite yet.

Not very hard to guess what their take is going to be so I thought I would read it for myself.

Reading the transcript it looks like a pretty typical diplomatic speech. Themes of shared history, loss, responsibility for the failings of the past and our common destiny, blah blah. Not really that offensive. It's just diplomacy, not a policy statement. What's he supposed to do, go over there and chew them out?

This excerpt shows the crux of the speech:

Quote:
In America, there's a failure to appreciate Europe's leading role in the world. Instead of celebrating your dynamic union and seeking to partner with you to meet common challenges, there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive.

But in Europe, there is an anti-Americanism that is at once casual but can also be insidious. Instead of recognizing the good that America so often does in the world, there have been times where Europeans choose to blame America for much of what's bad.

On both sides of the Atlantic, these attitudes have become all too common. They are not wise. They do not represent the truth. They threaten to widen the divide across the Atlantic and leave us both more isolated. They fail to acknowledge the fundamental truth that America cannot confront the challenges of this century alone, but that Europe cannot confront them without America.

One of my good friends is a Democrat and during the election, we argued and argued so much that are friends made it clear that we were banned from discussing politics. The other day, this friend made a snide statement about how sick and tired she is of Obama as his arrogance. I just did a

And I thought I would NEVER hear her say such a thing. He will be the most hated president in history by Fall, mark my word.

Pete, I really did cheer out loud! My kids were upstairs & called out to me to see what I was yelling about.

Obama is out of his mind.

AND I wanted to wring Mort's scrawny neck.

He was badmouthing his country while he's on foreign soil.
