When I was little, I misunderstood the rights. You know the line, "Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law..."? Well, I thought they meant if you said "gun" they'd use a gun on you in court.

It does not surprise me that you would say that. Keep on voting for supporters of big government and it will never change.

The O.J. trial proved all of the above...and then some.

OJ is not a career criminal. He's a celebrity with a celebrity case. Look around. Rage killings are not even a fraction of our problems. Watch a cop show sometime when they arrest a car thief who is on parole for 20 other convictions. Or some pimp or drug dealer or burglar or gang banger. The career criminals are the problem in my view.

Well since he ended up in trouble again...I'd say he has made it his new career.

However, my point was that:
1. It's their lawyer who allows them to get away with crime. Hell of a job by the defense team in the murder case...of course they had lots of help from the prosecutors across the aisle.
2. And sometimes it's the jury. 12 citizens who apparently couldn't come up with the necessary brain cells.
3. Occasionally it's a judge.Ito... enough said

However, jury nullification, the possibility of it, is built into our system.
OJ got off because many people wanted him to.

Career criminals get off because of Miranda and the ideas behind it.
