virtually every politician talks about how strong their faith is, national and local level.

WOW.. Barry gives up another lie.
the whole quote actually has him talking about Americans who've lived in primarily Muslim nations, had Muslims in their family - been enriched by the Muslim culture - he knows, because he's one of them.

What he actually says is that he's an American. AND that our country has been enriched by it's Muslim heritage. It's also been enriched by our black heritage, our Christain heritage, our Irish heritage, Native American heritage, our redneck heritage, etc., etc., ect.,
Well, let's not take it too far. He never suggested he nor anyone else was enriched by our Christian, Irish, American Indian, or redneck heritage. The only two things I've ever heard of him praising are our black and Muslim sub-cultures.

Sorry, I wasn't clear in my own construction there. That part of my entry was my own opinion. We are all enriched by our environments as long as we have our minds open enough to at least listen to other ideas.

You can be influenced by religion without attending a school or learning their doctrine. I believe my life has been impacted by Christianity by living amongst Christians. It's probably been impacted by Buddhism, Islam, and Hinduism too. Obama lived in Indonesia and has a Muslim father, I'm sure somewhere along the way something impacted him at some point.

WTF are you talking about?? The founders of this country FLED religious persecution because they were the wrong sect of Christianity! THAT is why they made it a first amendment right. There were various religions trying to mix as one nation.

This is true. You got one thing right. Congratulations.

I just wish a politician would stand up and say, "all religions are equal, they all suck."

Then he wouldn't be a politician. He'd be a guy with exactly ten seconds in the limelight. Even if you believe religion sucks, you don't win votes by insulting people.

Beaver is a scum-sucking dumbass - hey, why won't he vote for me?

The problem with politicians now is they're impulsive liars. They tell everyone what they want to hear.
