There's just no way around it - the Germans were losing to the Russians already, when we landed at Normandy. Badly. The Germans were stopped cold in Russia before we ever entered. We didn't save the Brits and French from the Germans. We saved them from the Russians.

Actually, the Russians tend to say we delayed Normandy so that more Russians would die on the Eastern Front. By the time we were in France, the Russians had expelled the Germans and were pushing them across Poland and Yugoslavia.

What I am saying is that Germany would rather likely not have gone all in on Barbarosa like they did had they no Western front to deal with. War is logistics. Yes, we didn't set foot on the continent until '43, but our gear and
stuff did from the very beginning.

Our supplies and equipment to both GB and the USSR were indispensable.

This doesn't stop Hitler form being a loon, of course, and there will never be a rational explanation for him declaring war on us and turning FDR lose to save his people.

You didn't find it because I didn't say it. The fact that you alluded to me saying that, as in this thread, which I didn't, doesn't make it so. That you consistently take the wrong message from what I say is either your fault for not reading well or mine for not communicating well.

Be that as it may, the Germans were not defeated before we set foot in Europe, either time. Whatever condition they were in, we had a profound, decisive impact on beating them, both times. In neither can I justify our losses and sacrifices. Can you?

I blame the British and French for the way the land was parceled out after WW I

it was intentionally cut up this was to keep the natives fighting amongst themselves rather than the Colonial Occupiers
