Barney the Bully

Barney get summarily biatch slapped by Bill O'Reilly for his part in the financial melt down being he had his hand on the tiller of the ship. He whines and cries about being bullied...........Then he bullies and berates a Harvard student who dares ask him the simple question "What responsibility do you have for the economic problems?" after Frank spends several minutes of his speech busting on Reagan and Bush for their part.

His royal highness needs to go.

Yeah, I saw that. I couldn't believe he jumped all over that kid and even put words in his mouth about the need to "apologize". I have to hand it to the kid - the crowd was definitely WITH Frank, even as he continued to evade the question, challenge the kid's motives, suggest it's all part of some right-wing smear campaign and give a ####-and-bull story about how it was really all the Republican's fault - and then lamely say he takes responsibility for it.

And all the kid does is continue to ask "What was your responsibilty in this matter?". As if he was making an accusation - which he didn't.

I didn't like Frank much before this, but I can't stand him now.

In all fairness to Barney, who I admire for his tenaciousness and intelligence and loath for his policies and ideas, the kid asked a really bad question that was pretty easy for Barn to get out of. The question for Barney is;

"Considering Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac, so called 'government sponsored enterprises', also known as socialism, are some of the main causes of our economic meltdown, how do you explain your role through most of George Bushs's term in resisting his, and John McCain's, calls to fix Fanny and Freddy before this very thing happened?"

Which begs the question... how do people like Frank keep getting reelected? He has held this seat since '81. HOW? You have to ask what is it he's doing right that the GOP is doing so wrong? This exemplifies how lost the GOP is.

Simple; More of his constituents support him as opposed to the ones who can't stand him.

It should be easy for a GOP candidate to come along and beat this guy. He is so transparently dishonest, indignant, and self-righteous. Is this what Americans really like in their representatives? Apparently so.

Why do you think it would be easy? The people who take asshats like this apart at the seems are not welcome in the GOP anymore. Especially in the Northeast.

It should have been easy for McCain to take apart Obama and Barney and Nancy and Harry the entire campaign. He, however, does not have that kind of game. He wants to work with them like a good centrist like the polls tell him people want, not beat them.

(On a side note - "raises" the question)

Because the GOP is nearly non-existent in Massachusetts. Every incumbent was re-elected last fall. In 2008, 6 of 10 races went completely unopposed. For Frank, two of his last four elections he went unopposed.

I don't know how you combat the sense in Massachusetts that you always vote Democrat, but that's how it is. I used to live there. Even fairly conservative people vote Democrat. That's just the way it is.

And just how does Steny keep getting rerelected? Local politics are local, no matter how big you get.

P.S. On a side note: does one really think the Navy is going to relocate Pax River?
