One might remind Andy, who I have on blissful ignore but keep up with because you all insist on quoting him , that conservatives have always criticized pork spending, regardless of who was in office. In fact, there are several threads specifically criticizing George W. Bush and Congressional Republicans for that very thing - threads started by CONSERVATIVES.

So let's not confused spendy Republicans with conservatives, because they are not the same thing.

And THIS, Andy Tardquis, is why I can't stand you and have you on ignore. Because you are an idiot who yaps like a mongrel puppy, with absolutely no substance or intellect whatsoever. It should embarrass you, but apparently it doesn't because you keep on yapping.

He might... but he hasn't. And I can point you to the threads where neocons are whining about proposed Obama Budget Cuts. They're opposed to big spending. But cut excess spending to something that affects them, and they blow a gasket.

The Congressional Budget Office would disagree with pretty much everything you said (except the Bill Cosby quote) (Try here, too)

:tada:

Yes, Obama's spent a lot in 60 days. Unfortunately, disaster recovery is expensive... and we've had a disaster for the past 8 years.

But he hasn't been given a chance to make budget cuts. And everyone's already whining about those budget cuts.

Hence the tea party - you know, the point of this thread. Pay attention.

When Obama's taxes start affecting you, you'll do the same, after a few rounds of needlessly defending them or pointing blame on Bush long after he's left office.

The recession has already hit ME. My retirement, which has taken 20 years to build up, has been severely cut down. It will never recoup the loss. My house has lost about a fifth of its value and is actually now worth less than when I bought it many years ago. It's still dropping. My taxes are going up because federal, state and local governments can't keep their budgets - so they find ways to raise taxes during a recession. Even sales taxes are pulling in fewer dollars. So to keep existing programs, rather than cut them, they raise taxes.

Be prepared for more in the next couple years, because gas, food and utilities will all go up - a lot. I'd recommned adjusting your withholding, because next year, you'll have a higher tax bill, despite the promises of only the rich paying.

And this is because Obama has managed to scare people into spending more than we have in the economy on all his programs, ostensibly to "stimulate" the economy but in fact, are just typical Democrat boilerplate.

I see nothing wrong with people of all parties saying enough - if you want to really cut the deficit, start with responsible SPENDING.

Al Gore was also the projected winner of the 2000 election.

Show me facts, not projections.
