It all depends on if our economy has a substantial turn-around before '12. Even before '10. If not I think you could see a change-over in Congress in '10 and a new president in '12.

I don't give two ####s about the economy. I care about my tax bite and how all this affects me personally. If the economy is absolutely booming, but I'm paying more in taxes because of federal and state overspending, I'm not a happy camper.

And if the economy is excellent, and the TV dudes are plotzing with joy and Warren Buffett gets another billion, I really don't care. I'm ONLY interested in my personal financial situation. And if I'm paying 40% of my income in taxes, I will not be happy, no matter how many poor children have government provided dental care.

It's about getting those out that will keep your tax rate at 40%. At this point it's a losing battle. They won. but if the economy doesn't improve they will be gone and you can expect to see YOUR taxes go down.

Oh stop. If it doesn't improve, the media and the former Republicans will blame it on Newt Gingrich and Alan Keyes, ultimate leaders of the GOP. They will never pay the price because they will just start cracking down on conservatives until there are none left.

At this point it's less about believing whether my vote matters and more about gaining momentum for the cause of anti-socialism. I was beginning to believe Americans were completely ignorant of what BO was trying to accomplish, but with this Tea Party thing I’m starting to see a movement. A lot of people are like sheep, they want to follow whose winning. If this tax revolt can take a firm footing then perhaps our “vote” might count. Don’t forget, Ehrlich did get elected in the state of MD. It can happen again.
