Well I'm didn't cast a vote in the poll because none of them are close to what I think, although straight party comes close.

There are a number of highly principled Democrats out there who won't always vote party line, but I am not holding my breath for them to get the nomination. I haven't seen a one of them come close to winning the Presidential nomination in my lifetime.

In principle, I will vote my conscience. In reality, I've been voting party almost always. Exception: local elections where party is kind of irrelevant.

As much as people like to call McCain a RINO, he would not be shaking hands with Chavez and apologizing overseas, badmouthing American, running up huge debts and most importantly - allowing earmarks. He is actually the one Senator who refuses them. You might get someone to the left of Bush, but he is not Obama Lite.

I don't buy the idiotic argument that we purposely elect someone odious because we want the electorate to see how bad the Democratic Party is. They can do a lot of damage before 2010.

They're already bristling with anger over - what I consider almost insignificant - tea parties. Compared to the anti-war protests - they WERE tea parties.
