Any zero tolerance rule, means the people who use it have no balls and no brains.

There is a difference between 'following the rules' and 'draconian'.

Good food for thought.

We seek to ever more isolate ourselves from responsibility and making, and accepting, judgements in the name of some vague, greater good. We're becoming draconian.

I think that makes the point very well.

Draconian.

I really like that because it is effectively illustrative. At least to me.

I mean, we got here out of concern for safety and worries of fairness and balancing the two. That intersection is where judgement and taking responsibility come into play. Or, used to. Well, we tend to reject both of those in public issues, judgement and responsibility, and we risk becoming draconian in exchange.

So, there is the core of the argument against zero tolerance cop out policies; they are draconian.

So, are we Draconians or not?

If so, do we wish to remain so or not?

I am certainly not,

I think this GroupThink from the leftists / socialists is crap ...

and John Whitehead is right is teaches Totalitarianism ...

of course if we had Zero Tolerance in the 60's when these people were demonstrating a lot more would have died on campuses than just at Kent State ... and Bill Ayers would probably not be breathing air today ...

yeah that is a bit over the top ... but so is ZT
