kind of an ignorant thing for him to say, but, I have on many occassions in different forums tried to point out that the reason the U.S has such a bad relationship with the middle east is because of the support for Isreal.
this is why I have also stated that the best thing that could be done to bring any chance of world peace would be for everyone to back away from all the mid east fighting and just let it play out on its own.
Yes, that most likely would mean an end to Isreal, but in the long run I think the results would be a stabilized section of the world that has been in turmoil for centuries.

too many lives, and too much money has been wasted trying to protect them. Plus, If they didnt have the U.S watching their backs, I tend to think they wouldnt run their mouths quite so much, be a better chance at getting them to the negotiating table.

I think if left alone, Israel would do anything necessary to defend itself. I see lottsa muslims going up in a mushroom cloud.

So, we back out. The Palestinians, Iran, Iraq, Syria, etc... attack Israel. Israel asks for our help... and we........................???????????????

and we do what we should have done years ago. let them deal with it on their own. The isrealies are some pushy people, depending on what side you are looking from, they are no better than the rest of the middle east trash.
maybe if these little piss ant countries lost their big country backings, they would see it in their best interest to work things out.
its the only option that really has never been tried.

I think the picture is much bigger than that. I think they ALL hate each other. If they eliminate Israel they will all be jockeying for control of that land. They will war against each other for other plots of land. I'm trying to imagine a singular control of all the oil in that region. I can see so many downfalls to the US ignoring such a thing. It would become a hyper-breeding ground for terrorists. Stepping out would not stop them from hating us. It will only allow the hatred to brew and grow. And you're talking about eliminating the only REAL democracy in that region.
