Me neither. You'd think they'd be more appreciative.

I don't know why anyone would think Andy is in favor of the auto bailouts. I've read him being critical of them multiple times, and his original comment in this thread didn't reveal any support whatsover for them, so far as I could see.

He just stated that the auto companies don't have to take the government money. Obviously, that means they would quickly become illiquid, and thus face suits/collection attempts from their creditors which, combined with their insolvency, would likely force them into some form of bankruptcy. I thought he was just stating the obvious.

Lame joke scale: 6.5/10 - not bad - but I've seen better work from you.

Chrysler actually makes a pretty decent car. Their trucks arent so bad either.
I think their biggest problem was in going all out for power instead of making with the gas saving mini-cars.

There isnt a Ford or Chevy that can hold the light for Chryslers hemi to run by, and their cars ride good and handle well. Gas milieage is what is killing them.

Keep this in mind; judges have 'off' days, too.

Also, on a 'Lame' joke scale, what is 'better'; 1 or 10?

I couldn't decide that myself - 10 can either be 'more lame' or 'more funny, in spite of a hint of lameness'.

That's why I picked something near the middle, yet not quite in the middle. Think of it as a kind of Rorschach Test - which one you think it is, tells you what you think about your own funniness today.

OK, so, you took a position, leaning a bit one way over the other, yet you won't explain what that actually means, eh? You are high level cabinet material, I tell yah!

No, this part was the substantive critical analysis (the 'position' I took):

And, this part was determined completely arbitrarily, and inserted to lend technical credibility, and to distract from the obvious vagueness of the position I subsequently stated:

Hmm... now that I think about it, that would make me even better high level cabinet material. Good thing I'm aspiration-free.
