The first picture Obama is opening the door to the Oval Office welcoming visitors (knowing it was TIME) in shirt sleeves. The 2nd picture shows him leaning back in his chair with his feet ON THE FURNITURE.

This is majestic?

There is a not very flattering photograph of the First Lady sitting in an upholstered chair with her legs crossed. She is too tall to sit with her legs crossed in front of her like that.

Paging Tish Baldridge!!

I didn't like that one, either.

You guys are seeing the rotten trees amongst the majestic forest. We are far bigger and far grander than one person. Keep that in mind, folks.

No, I just like pointing out the things our sychophantic media will not.

I liked the pictures of the girls, and a few of the White House events, a few of the private moments on Obama alone were nice photos.

But when those same types of pictures were shown of Bush or Reagan - they were lambasted for being something or other.

Well screw them. We're bigger than them. We can see the majesty of OUR nation, it's institutions and traditions without being petty whiners simply because of partisan reasons. I refuse to tear down my entire nation in an effort to say "They did it, too." There is far too much to go after them on in terms of substance and policy. Most of those pics are inspiring and grand to me.

Much bigger than one person or one party.

Larry, I wasn't petty. I was pointing out that the President had his feet on the (OUR)furniture. He was leaning back in the chair. Things I'd point out to my own kids! (As in :thwack: "whatsamatta, you - you live in a barn?! )

AND, further, commenting that our First Lady should pay attention to how she looks sitting in a chair is not petty. She is, after all, representing our country when she is visiting foreign countries. It was not very ladylike to sit there with her legs crossed that way, slouching in a chair, one shoe practically dangling from a foot.

Maybe it doesn't matter when she's having guests in the private residence and is not being photographed. And good, great, fantastic that we have a younger First Couple, who are "relaxed", "laid back", "not stuffy" but for cripes' sake, she needs to have some decorum. Good Gawd.

They'd just assume burn the WH down now rather than win it back

I am focused on the bigger picture here, not individuals. OUR White House. OUR traditions. OUR institutions. I hear you. Let's just not get too personal about this. That's not the point.
