| Business as usual with the Democrats, dare to speak out and you are silenced. What's scary is everyone sees it, every day, and no one does a thing. Its one thing to have the maroons in demo underground closing their ears, but these are congress critters. |

| This isn't really "science" to Gore and others. It's a social issue. As far as they are concerned, the science was resolved two decades ago. And it points to what I've said before - liberals don't hear your side of the argument, because they don't respect it as equal to theirs. Put it this way - you're going to deliver a lecture on racism in America, and some guy "challenges" you to a debate where he will "prove" to you the other races are inferior and thus deserving of prejudice. You'd respond with "the hell with that". You wouldn't let his odious views on stage, even though you're certain you could easily dismiss everything he had to say. But your reaction isn't fear, it's a combination of repugnance and irritation. Similarly, you're going to teach a class on the advantages of the American Dream and its role in capitalistic society, and some smart alec decides he plans to go toe to toe with you on Marxism and how capitalism has ruined the lives of millions. Or you're a minister about to teach on the difference between sanctification and justification, and some jerk decides it's time to declare to the class that RELIGION ALONE is the primary cause for all cruelty and evil in the world. In these instances, your thoughts would be - why should I listen to this twit? Because you went in on the idea that you wouldn't need to defend something about which you planned to discuss in greater detail. You can defend yourself, but why bother? You weren't planning on challenges, and you're frankly annoyed by them. Now - a really good capitalist would be able to persuade that Marxist he was full of beans and might change his mind. A good minister might even look at a fiery young upstart as a fiery new convert and evangelist. But not if you really don't know the details and are just teaching the Cliff's Notes version of your material. Which is what Gore is doing. |

| Board Mommy | And yet global warming is cited as the gospel by not only wackadoodles, but intelligent people who have been successfully indoctrinated by the media hype. Whenever someone mentions that they fear global warming, or even climate change, my opinion of that person changes dramatically.
