There's a whole bunch of stuff on that list that I've never heard of, have no clue as to what some of those things are, and yet, they cause far more deaths in this country than all homicides.

This survey only mentions deaths, and has no room for those permanently injured, or those given a bad diagnoses who are right now being affected.

It's the misinformed driven by the media to form well thought out opinions based on misinformation. The media and other non-creative outlets are slowly molding our society into a craplike substance. They form your opinions and warp the collective social psychy into believing things that are not necessarily news in order to keep people watching.

B. actually keep in place restrictions and background checks on those people to purchase any firearm. Not just a pistol, at any event or store. Not ban a firearm due to its physical appearance, actaully keep the people that would commit gun crimes away from guns...

Firearms caused almost 31,000 deaths in 2006. 54% were suicide and should be disregarded (if we take away guns, they'll find another way, like OD, jump, etc.)

That leaves 12,352 homocides by firearms. Some of those are justified - law enforcement, self defense, etc.

In reality, firearm homocide is about half the rate for unintentional falls. Why isn't no-no asking to ban ladders, cliffs, buildings, and trees?

That's a good start, and it can be implemented in part. We can do a lot more to stop crazies and criminals from getting guns. However, there is no way to stop someone who hasn't been diagnosed or caught yet other than banning all guns.

Many of the people not yet diagnosed with actual violent disorders ussually have some other history.
A complete ban on firearms is a waste of federal time, and would not be federally funded, therefor making it a waste of total time.
Local cops are not going to enforce it... They'll just tack it onto a current charge... Kinda like gettin pulled over for a tail light out and recieveing a seatbelt ticket as well...
If your held for one charge, and they find out you have guns, they'll just add it.

I just read that 282,988,000 guns are handled safely and responsibly every year.
