Of note;

Quote:
Blumenauer and Reilly also said that Republicans are not taking into account the point that the federal government plans to return to the American people part of the money paid by corporations for the right to release carbon into the atmosphere -- and that the government also plans to provide Americans with goods and services funded by the cap-and-trade program.

This is how pathetic the GOP is; the left is saying, flat out, that this is economic redistribution and what are they gonna do with the issue; cry it costs too much.

Not that it's a bad idea in principle.

Not that it is yet another MASSIVE expansion of government scope and power.

No. Their problem with the latest rape of the constitution? It costs too much.
Why, if only it were a little cheaper, we could go right along with this!

Why take money from me in the first place of they mean to return it.?

Thats plain stupid and if anyone thinks they will return a portion that is financially helpful
that person is stupid.

This whole thing is a scam and only really stupid people cannot see that. If the environment needs cleaning up make the companies doing the polluting spend that money to put scrubbers and other things on their plant to clean it up. Dont just steal their money and send it to someone else.

Let's say that the utility has to pay the equivalent of $100 per year/per household. The utility isn't just going to absorb that cost, so the households pony up the $100.

Why aren't the people that were crying about the tax cuts for the rich complaining about this as it hits the low income households harder? I mean if the Feds came out and said there was a new widget tax of $100 per household/year, wouldn't we be hearing about how unfair it is to the low income folks?

That's one issue. The other issue would be how is the case made that record spending and record deficits WON'T require record taxes to pay for?

Honestly though, I would have kept my first MIL from my first Marriage if it had not required me keeping the fence hopping ho that the ex turned out to be.

and even though I joke, My current MIL is ,, ok, she is annoying, and she does try to infiltrate every detail of our life,
But, all that aside, she would do anything for anyone. As long as they let her annoy them afterwards.
Kinda like making the homeless pray and listen to a sermon before feeding them

because
in order for this to work in a liberal way, as soon as the C&P part one is passed, C&P part two that covers low income relief will be passed, so that 100 dollar per year/per household will end up being 200 per year per household so that the poor see no increase.

You might be onto something there, but I think it would be more along the lines of the top 10% paying the entire "tax" and more to allow the low incomers enjoy a refundable tax credit. So the $200 would probably more like $500 for those folks.
