You give people more credit for intelligence than they deserve. Just because you are interested in news and politics doesn't mean everyone is. If that were the case, more people would watch news shows than Desperate Housewives, right?

However Celebrity Apprentice has an average of 8 million viewers, while all cable news shows combined for the whole of prime time get around 6 million viewers. (Desperate Housewives, btw, has 13 million viewers.)
Again, if you are right, how did Bush win? Twice? How did the GOP run the House for 12 years, six consecutive congressional election cycles? How did the GOP run the Senate for a few terms?

Are you saying GOP wins, like Dems wins, are nothing more than the herd being swayed one way or another? If so, aren't you then agreeing to my point that the media bias is irrelevant because it works both ways?

I am gleefully awaiting your response.

That was then, this is now. And I know you're not suggesting that Bush or the GOP Congress is conservative.

Right?

I suspect the only reason Gore got as many votes as he did was because he was Clinton's VP and because of the media push, not because of any appeal on his part. It's not like he was ever embraced by anyone except the enviro-nutties and the editors of Rolling Stone. If he hadn't been a sitting VP, he wouldn't have made it through the primaries.

John Kerry also had no appeal. He was snobbish elitist with a rich wife who was also a snobbish elitist. It's hard to listen to a guy with five mansions talk about helping the poor. And I think a lot of people wanted to keep Bush because we were in the middle of the wars and things were going pretty well in this country at that time.

I was surprised that Howard Dean blanked out the way he did - I thought he'd be their nominee. I think, at the end of the day, he was too angry for most Americans. They hadn't truly embraced their inner Kos at that point.

But four years and a hard media push later, we are definitely turning Left and I think McCain as the GOP nominee, Obama as President, Pelosi as Speaker and Reid as SML prove that beyond a shadow of a doubt.

That sounds like a fair enough analysis of where we are right now yet I still say we didn't get here because the GOP was too conservative, as the left wing media is desperately trying to convince their herd.

However, the question you took exception with me on is whether or not media bias is irrelevant based on my contention that both sides have fair enough access across the land.

No, because you're not taking Hollywood and the entertainment industry into consideration. THEY are the kingmakers, not Hannity or Chris Matthews. And conservatives are most definitely not well-represented in the entertainment fields. And THAT is where most Americans get their political information from and form their opinions.

PS, they aren't *trying* to convince them - they ARE convincing them.

how can you say that, you admitted most Subjects get their news from AI, and the LSM paints any conservative as a Loon, Racist , Homophobe ...

look at Ron Paul, Sure shutting down the FBI is a bit Radical ( even for me ) but a lot of his other Ideas had Merit ... but the RINOs in the party laughed and pointed fingers ( which did not help ) and add the KO's and CWs of the world and it all gets lost in the background as noise

sure there about 6 million of us who get it ....

but it is like trying to stand againist a fire hose that is the LSM when all we have is a garden hose on at a 1/2 trickle ....
