True enough. So, the second part of the question; How did the GOP win so much right up to 2006? Were GOP voters resistant to the left media or did the left media tell them to vote GOP?

Off the top of my head, I'd say that it was because of the war. Most people don't like changing horses in the middle of the stream, and things were perceived as going well at that point.

You know that by that time, I had lost my affection for George Bush because of his spending and was a one-issue voter - the war. While I think one should #### or git with regard to running wars, I thought Bush was doing as well as any President could under the circumstances. So I gave him a thumbs-up. And I suspect many others felt the same way I did.

As for 2000, I've already said that it was because Gore was so downright unappealing.

And again, that was then, this is now. Peoples' perceptions and attitudes change over time. Clinton wasn't particularly left-wing - he was actually fairly moderate. So obviously at that point, the screaming Left wasn't as prevalent as it is today.

Maybe it's a simple matter of "whoever's better looking and more charming wins." Certainly that has been the case over the years.

Most Republicans did not want Mccain. We got stuck with him. Thanks to early primary's in yankee land and cross over votes in some of those Primary's/

We didnt want him we were stuck with him. By the time Maryland voted it was a waste to vote for anyone else even though many of us did,.

This new Republican ,Politically Correct, liberal bent can kiss my azz. If Republicans want to give up Conservatism ,I will give them up and Jeb Bush can go take a hike along with his brother.
