Obama knows how to obfuscate, to deflect questions, to deal with the pressure a little better than her, don't you think? O"Reilly had Obama on and hit him pretty good yet Obama handled it pretty well.

You can not know and come off as competent. You can not know and sound like you are in way over your head.

Sarah Palin was FAR more qualified to be an executive (president) than any of the other three, Obama, Biden, McCain, BUT she does not, as of yet, handle tough interviews all that well at this point.

Had she made the talk show rounds a year or so prior to running and been hammered a few times, it would have seasoned her and she would have come off better under the spotlight.

That's all I am saying.

You forgot to add that it is easy to answer with a lie, or to obfuscate as you say, which in reality is not to answer at all, but to change the subject, and yes Obama is good at that.

Palin hasnt learned to lie with the splendor of Obama, and hopefully she never will.

Certainly if I can enter a debate with the ability to lie or make up answers out of thin air and not be called on them I am going to win. If I can answer a question by changing the subject instead of answering the question, I am already ahead in debate points. If I am expert at this, as Obama is, then I win debates. It proves his ability as a liar not his ability as a candidate for President, and it proves the debate monitors were in the bag for Obama. Unfortunately the press led the cheerleading squad ,and although they recognised the lies ,they swore to these lies when they wrote to the public. No amount of money that could have been raised by McCain-Palin could have bought enough publicity to beat the press handing it to Obama for free.

It is not lying I am talking about, though, certainly, many politicians do. I am talking about handling an issue you're not prepared for with an air of confidence that you know how to think on your feet and you know what questions to ask to address the issue instead of lying or coming off like she did; grasping around for that page in the briefing she'd been doing. She was trying to fake it instead of saying:

"Jeez, Charlie, I knew you'd get me somewhere! What are we talking about when you say 'Bush' doctrine' and I'll give you my honest opinion or tell you if I just don't know and you stop playing gotcha, OK?..."

There is a style, a flair, a self confidence that disarms your opponents and heartens your friends because it requires no excuse making or defending.

Call it seasoning. Call it experience. Call it practice. She simply did not have enough.
