No he didn't. I actually heard him come on the radio and said one of his fans decided to do a practical joke about him dying. Although I'm not sure where he lives now, he is alive. I'm going to do a search and see if I can locate him again. He was on AM radio 1290 (or something close) last year on Saturday mornings only.

So, he's looking at the problem, public health and politics, in the proper context but it makes people uncomfortable.

So, yeah, he's not lite beer; he's 100 proof. He makes some good points and he makes them hard, but no way is he some tin foil hat Air America type.

Sooo right Larry! He is not afraid to speak out against ANY President either. A tactic that hurts the delicate ears of Hannity and Rush. He lit into Bush many times but his actions talk more than his words. As I said earlier, he is not afraid to spend big money to use lawyers to silence corrupt groups or people.
He really came under fire when he spoke out against excess medication for autistic children. Ditzy Jenny McCarthy was all over him but he prevailed.
I think people miss what else he does because they only tune in for a short time when he's flipping out. He talks about his childhood and how he was the son of poor immigrant parents. If they heard him talk about this, they'd really enjoy him. He's not all politics.

Don & Mike were a great team - consistently entertaining. They mellowed after CBS imposed "decency standards" on them, but I actually liked the show better after that. I think Don never recovered enough from Freda's death to go back to the hilarious nonsense they were doing prior. They entertained me for years on my afternoon struggle through the Waldorf 500.

Mike's solo show has never really impressed me. Now I flip between Sean Hannity and Monica Crowley's shows - I think I like Monica better than Sean.

As far as Don being liberal - I can remember days when he was PO'ed at both sides and would swear to never support either again. Those silly rants were part of his charm.

I agree that they were consistently entertaining - I thoroughly enjoyed the Don & Mike Show!

What station is Monica Crowley on? I love her - I'd like to see what she's got to say once in awhile when I get tired of Sean. Plus, maybe I can that station on my mini walkman radio when I walk in the afternoons! I swear, half the time I can't get WMAL to come in. :grr:

I don't know where you live but she is on 570 AM from 3-6 PM weekdays.

As one might expect, the inevitable public backlash has begun: According to UTV News, curiosity has set in as U.K. residents wonder about the fuss. Until Tuesday, most had never heard of Mr. Savage - his program does not air in Britain. Now, the network believes Home Secretary Jacqui Smith has done him a huge, unintended favor.

The Irony however is ...

Perhaps Ms. Smith might also consider banning a few of the left's most notorious radio talk hosts:

(1) Mike Malloy, who in 2007 expressed a "violence fantasy" toward then-White House press secretary Dana Perino. A month later, here was his wish for Matt Drudge: "Somebody ought to wrap a strong Republican entrail around his neck and hoist him up about six feet in the air and watch him bounce."

As for Bush administration officials in general, Mr. Malloy advocates this delightful approach: "We're going to start by hauling every one of these pigs that have ruined this country in the past seven years, we're going to haul these pigs out in front of the American people and they are going to be forced to testify. If you testify and tell the truth, tell the truth, nothing will happen. ...

"But if you don't tell the truth, then we're going to use enhanced interrogation techniques on you. We're going to let you go for a little swim. We're going to make you think you are drowning. And some of you, just for the hell of it, we may allow you to drown."

Mr. Malloy is also known for overt racism. With producer/wife Kathy Malloy supplying the mocking Indian voice, Mr. Mallory laughed during this February exchange meant to disparage Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal: "Hello, my name is Bobby, how may I give you excellent customer service today, I hear you are having problems with hard drive. I am so very sorry this is happening to you, ma'am."


(3) Randi Rhodes, who has returned to the airwaves with a new contract via Clear Channel, has her own colorful history: in 2008, she was yanked from Air America after calling Hillary Clinton "a big ... whore."

In the end, Britain has the right to exclude from its shores anyone it wishes. But that doesn't mean the United Kingdom's new thought-crimes list couldn't be a bit more balanced. Is the Home Secretary listening?

Coming in & out of Waldorf, I often struggle to hear both 630 AM and 570 AM at times. I forgot about his show, but Chris Plante (formerly on WMAL) had a great show. His show was canned and the oh-so boring team of Joe Scarborough and Mika Brezinski came in. Since there are no decent music stations in the Metro DC area - in my car, it's either talk radio, WTOP, or classic rock CD's.

I'm over in Calvert Co. Mid-county area. It's hard to pick up a lot of talk radio stations. (except in the car!)
