buy Ford Stock?

From the looks of it with the UAW running Chrysler, with the help of Obama.

I will never buy from a company owned by the UAW or the Government, will you?

So do I just buy Ford? They refused the Chairman Obama offer and are doing ok. I do know the new Yugo cars from the Government will never sell.

Given the reviews on the 2010 Fusion Hybrid, it might be a good move.

41 (Est) City / 36 (Est) Hwy

pretty crappy when you consider the price of those batteries and the problems that disposing of them are going to cause.

go for the Jetta TDI, 47 city and over 50 highway. And cleaner than gas

Ford has been in better fiscal shape than the other 2 major American automakers for quite some time. They've made better decisions than GM and Chrysler. They were borrowing and hoarding cash, and scaling back operations, while the others were waiting until the last moment - eventually having to go to the government, hat in hand, begging to be saved. Ford has just been a better run company lately.

Not too long ago they completed a successful debt for equity swap, a sign of investor confidence in their long-term prospects. And, right about the time that GM was announcing that it planned to have a prolonged production shutdown during the summer, Ford was announcing that it planned to boost production by 25% in the second quarter.

They just announced yesterday that they are investing a half billion dollars to convert a truck plant so that it can produce a smaller, more fuel-efficient Focus, and eventually, a new electric car. They also affirmed that they have sufficient liquidity going forward. They plan to be profitable again by 2011, but I think they might get there by the 2nd or 3rd quarter of 2010.

The main question for Ford at this point is, how might their business operations be affected by being in competition with the U.S. government, and, for that matter, the organization that many of their workers belong to.

All of that having been said, the stock looked like a much better risk/reward value at $1 than it does now at $6.

I have a Civic Hybrid and I'm getting 50+ MPG during the warm months and 40+ during the cold months. I love that car.

Yep. I bought at $3.25, which was way too high. I'm happy I held it, but there's no way I would buy it now.

Buy low, sell high. Why don't people get the concept? It hasn't been this high in almost a year. It isn't low, so now is not the time to buy.

Now adays, I see nothing wrong with Toyota or Nissan...

but if I were to stick to true blue american, I would go Ford....

As for your stock questions, I just put money in my 401k and watch my loses add up

Wouldn't that be an interesting question;

"Mr. President, going forward, how does your warranty compare to Fords and how do you plan to compete with them next quarter?"

If you're ordered to do so.
