CIA Says Pelosi Was Briefed on Use of 'Enhanced Interrogations' - Washington Post

Intelligence officials released documents this evening saying that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was briefed in September 2002 about the use of harsh interrogation tactics against al-Qaeda prisoners, seemingly contradicting her repeated statements over the past 18 months that she was never told that these techniques were actually being used.

In a 10-page memo outlining an almost seven-year history of classified briefings, intelligence officials said that Pelosi and then-Rep. Porter Goss (R-Fla.) were the first two members of Congress ever briefed on the interrogation tactics. Then the ranking member and chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, respectively, Pelosi and Goss were briefed Sept. 4, 2002, one week before the first anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

I don't know about everyone else, but I for one am shocked to find a such a high level Democrat telling such a bold faced lie.
Think the ACLU and George Soros will target Nancy as they have the rest of the folks they think are involved with this? On the other hand, if Pelosi was part of the gang that authorized getting good itel from those scumbags, I have an odd sense of respect for her. Cancelled out of course by her blatant LIES.

No. I don't love it at all when people lie and misrepresent the truth. It's sneaky. It's weasley. And I think it shows poorly for us all when someone like that has risen to such power by behaving that way. Of all my criticisms of the Bush-ites, I never doubted their motives and intentions. Pelosi, well, this is low.

I'm just curious though...they listed Pelosi as the "ranking member" of the House (or of the intelligence committee?). What was her rank in 2002? I think she may have been Minority leader and possibly she was the ranking Democrat of the committee. I guess that's what they mean
