Is it 1996? Or 2009?

I'll take the 1996 GOP over the 2008 GOP every day of the week, and twice on Sundays. In fact, I'd like to have the 1996 Democratic party back as well. Fiscally speaking, they have both been racing toward the liberal extreme. The GOP has been running a little faster, but then again, the Dems had a little bit of a head start.

On a personal level, I could be talked into going back to 1996 for a little while - exciting times for me.

The US, on the whole, was doing fairly well during the 90's with a Dem president and R control of congress.

The problem with the 90's is that Bill Clinton rotted our soul. He taught us that the ends justifies the means, lie, cheat, steal; it works.
