GOP rebound...

...the GOP is likely to bounce back, some, during the mid terms if you simply look at it in an historical context, ie, what normally happens to the 'out' party.

Add to this that there are a fair number of Dem senators/seats that are in trouble anyway, Dodd, Spectre and a couple others, for various reasons, and that part looks good for the GOP, certainly not to retake the Senate, but to soften the D majority and get it back under the magic #60.

In the House, the working majority that either party holds had been, since 1994, tied to the folks in the middle from districts that have been, and look to continue to, bounce back and forth from D to R.

My interest here is in the the 'why', the argument will R's make to win elections. The GOP, as a whole, is tussling back and forth between those who pretty much supported the Bush years, as a whole, and those who think the party jumped the tracks. That is one issue.

However, if you are running for a seat against a sitting D and you were not there these last 2-4 years, you're working from a clean slate, you're not tied, like an Eric Cantor, to the votes of the recent past.

So, what is going to work for these new folks? What do you want to hear?

What I want to hear is pretty much the exact opposite of what RINO McCain and his daughter are putting out.

I want to hear an acknowledgement of the insanity and a promise to stop the madness.

NOT:
let's get along, let's compromise, let's work together, let's only pizz on the constitution a little bit.

I Don't Want To Hear...

" We have been listening..."
"Your feelings are important to us..."
"We are reaching out to those in need..."

I hate the thought of the Bill Clinton approach--finger in the wind, reaching out to hug the soccer Moms and every moany minority.

I want to hear PLAN...LEADERSHIP...RESTORATION...CONSTITUTION...
STRONG DOLLAR...PROTECTED RIGHTS...SMALLER GOVERNMENT.
That is what I want----- why???
Because that is what has worked for centuries, while socialism has limped & failed continually.

Go Obama!!!! (back to Kenya...and bring your illegal auntie with you!)

A few Republican familiar faces embarked on a listening tour over the weekend. Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and House Minority Whip Eric Cantor held a town-hall style meeting at a restaurant in Virginia — kicking off the first meeting of the GOP group National Council for a New America which was created to rebrand the party’s image.

While this sounds nice, a listening tour is by definition a leadership vacuum. The GOP didn’t lose in wide margins this past election because we didn’t listen. We lost because we failed to lead.

You and this lady are spot on.

She sounds like she's saying the GOP needs an enema. Or does she mean the party just needs to rid itself of old wrinkled faced white men?

I have none against white men per se, just the wrinkled faced white men who took the party down the tubes.

So when you say "the party just needs to rid itself of old wrinkled faced white men", and that you have a problem with "just the wrinkled faced white men who took the party down the tubes", to which wrinkled old white men do you
refer?
