The situation in the primaries is, because it is strung out over many weeks, voters are deprived of a vote because the race is pretty much over by the time they get a chance. You could go out and vote, but in many cases, your candidate of choice has LEFT THE RACE, because the nomination has been cinched by someone else.

It's one thing to vote for someone because you want to support them in the face of overwhelming odds, but it is idiotic to vote for someone when they've already quit the race.
My argument is irrelevant if you accept as fact that you must vote for whomever gets passed on to you. If the RNC or DNC for that matter saw that Marylanders voted overwhelmingly for Kiki Stinkerotes even though she got little support in New Hampshire and had dropped out, they'd have something to think about, wouldn't they?

My point is that McCain was far from acceptable to me. My point is that the system we have IS working poorly enough to warrant consideration of changes.

The internet holds out the hope of fixing much of this simply by virtue of Kiki Stinkertoes having her 1,000,000 supporters, none of whom are in Iowa or New Hampshire or South Carolina, sending her enough cash for her to hang in there until the Maryland primary where her numbers start to work in her favor.

The only reason things are the way they are is because people accept what the parties tell us to do. That's either OK or it's not.

Voting for the person I actually support is idiotic. Refusing to vote for the person left because I simply don't support them is idiotic.

No wonder we are where we are.
