Who would have thought that Mr. Squeaky Clean, The Silky Pony, The compassionate do-gooder, would be in such a lurch?

Being chased down a dark hotel hallway by the National Enquirer. Having to admit to boinking a mistress while his wife withers from cancer. Now being investigated for campaign finance violations by paying his boink mate over $114K for basically nothing and now his wife is on a book tour basically calling him an ass without coming right out and saying it.

I bet it sucks around his breakfast table.

You have to assume that during the primary Hillary and Obama both knew Edwards was dirty but they didn't use it. I suppose they saw no need because he wasn't going to win anyway so why destroy him. Maybe they figured they could use him later.

Hillary knew but she was stuck watching the media let it slide. She didn't want to risk being the source. However, I think it's nice of you to imply she had charitable motivations to let a sister hang. Those in the know...knew. The behind the scenes math was that Edwards blunts Hillary in Iowa and New Hampshire keeping her from jumping out to any kind of early lead. The fix was in for Obama. Early.

This is biased media at it's sleazy core; working for a specific candidate. I heard a term yesterday I hadn't heard before "The 527 media", 527 being the IRS designation for partisan political groups.

And what makes you think the Edwards do anything together anymore, let alone breakfast?

I always thought he was a slimeball. Didn't think he could ever get some gal to have sex with him, but his character has always been in question for me. Anyone with a fake southern accent that they can turn on and off at-will isn't a genuine person.
