Pelosi responds to Panetta comments

Quote:
Speaker Nancy Pelosi responded Friday to CIA Director Leon Panetta's public disagreement with her charge that she was misled by the agency on the use of waterboarding and other aggressive interrogation techniques.
CNN Political Ticker: All politics, all the time Blog Archive - Pelosi responds to Panetta comments « - Blogs from CNN.com

The comments are priceless. There are still quite a few folks who are still blaming Bush, one can guess their political affiliation. I particularly liked the comment regarding the witch hunt and they actually found her.

Best commentary:

Quote:
I don’t think she’s accusing Bush of anything here, actually. This statement is no more or less than her way of waving the white flag, eating her words about the CIA before she does any more damage or stumbles into any more idiotic non sequiturs about creating jobs in response to torture queries, and mindlessly dumping the whole thing in the lap of the left’s all-purpose villain. She gives up. It’s all Bush’s fault, even if it isn’t. No further questions, please.
Hot Air » Blog Archive » Pathetic: Pelosi plays down CIA criticism, blames Bush instead

As I ran into this a bit later, I'll add it here instead of a new post.

I watched for 8 years as George Bush was attacked time and time again. As his staff was attacked and even jailed. (Scooter Libby.
Bush never once,to my knowledge spoke to defend himself or his staff. Now Pelosi states it is George Bush's fault that she was lied to by the CIA.

Does George Bush defend himself or his CIA? He does not.

If it wasn't for Dick Cheney another Democrat lie would be used as fact. Dick Cheney who has the courage to speak up. HE is my man, not George Bush. certainly George Bush has class, but does having class mean you cannot defend yourself? If it does then I vote against it. How many of the failures of the Bush administration can be blamed on Democrat lies that went unchallenged??

I have lost respect for George Bush, his policy of turning the other cheek cost us an election a vital election where we got a Kenyan dictator as President. Mud slinging in elections is bad, certainly, but standing there and being a target is just as bad.

Thank You Dick Cheney, if not for your outspokenness another Democrat lie would have gone unanswered.

I don't know if any of you can remember the old "When E. F. talks people listen" commercials.

It's got to kill the inexperienced new Presodent and his band of Merry Men, that they arehaving to flip-flop on so much and basically admit the Bush folks were doing it right because
"When Dick Cheney talks" public opinion is swayed.

You are right on about W, too. I'm sure he is staying out of the limelight intentionally, but eventually his voice will have to be heard on this subject.

Cheney is one thing. He has credibility with me. If I never hear another public word from George W. Bush it will be too soon.

I think George Bush staying out of the rhetoric is a good idea, the DEM'S would like nothing more than for Bush to reemerge so they can try an paint a face to everything the Obama administration and Democratic leadership are doing wrong. The "Blame Bush" #1 Demo talking point is getting tired and old fast among Americans. Now that the Democrats are clearly in charge on all fronts people are waking up from their Obama coma's and getting a true taste of what life in America is like under the far left socialist agenda.

As Pelosi has found out, the walls are slowly starting to crumble in Camelot. The Republicans better learn from this and frankly the Government as a whole needs a blood transfusion. By again, let America feel the pain of the far left agenda, the experience will finally force them to believe that everything under King Obama and the Demo control will NOT be a life of endless sunny days, rainbows, Unicorns, prancing around the daises, and hugging the trees...

And all this stems from Obama's releasing the Justice Department memos concerning interrogation techniques- those being used right now on American service people in SERE training. I wonder if the Anointed One has learned any lessons concerning second and third level effects? Maybe so; squashing the photos was the smart play. And how's that GITMO cllosure thing working these days...
