Andrew McCarthy quotes the examination of Attorney General Eric Holder before the House Judiciary Committee by Republican Reps. Dan Lungren and Louis Gohmert on the definition of torture. "In one of the rare times he gave a straight answer," Connie Hair repots, "Holder stated at the hearing that in his view waterboarding is torture." Lungren wondered: Are Navy SEALS subjected to waterboarding as part of their training being tortured?

For you legal beagles out there, this is an interesting question. Holder is trying to apply political views to a legal question, which contradicts his own Department's brief with the Sixth Circuit Court.

OK, but did you read it?

Holder is saying that the intent to cause lasting harm is the legal issue with waterboarding, 'wb', from now on.

Holder is saying an instructor can waterboard a soldier because the intent is to train, not to harm.

Plus, the instructor knows, fact certain, that wb does no harm.

So, an interrogator, knowing he is NOT causing harm and whose intent is only to defend US citizens with the information he may gain, why would he be any different, intent and/or in practice as far as wb goes?

Holder is dead in the water, so to speak.

Given O'rahma knows damn well how this will play out, wb is no big deal, do you think they figure the distraction this is causing serves a smokescreen to other parts of the agenda?

Yes I read it, but Holder was pissing backwards so fast it was hard to understand. Do you believe that the people being waterboarded didnt know it was harmless.? They train too. It isnt the fact that waterboarding does no harm that causes one to speak It is the fact that it is intractable. You simply have to make it go away, and speaking the truth is what makes it go away.

This issue should not even exist and wouldnt exist if Obortion Obama had simply kept his friggin mouth shut as he should have, but he was so intent on dstroying Bush that he had to spill his guts and thereby placed us at a disavantage from this day forward.Of course his fellow flunky Holder backs him on it ,after all, didnt Obama give him the job he has?

There is so much crap and spending and bad laws being rushed through the Congress that it is hard to pick one thing that needs this distraction.
The Congress is running wild to get these things passed before Americans wake up. When we wake up we will be so in debt, capitolism will be dead, the UN will be running the US, Obama will be running all corporations and Homosexuals will be fornicating in the streets.
