John Huntsman...

Jon Huntsman, Jr. - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Many in the media are applauding, gleefully, the genius political move by our president in naming Utah Gov. John Huntsman as US ambassador to China.

Their point is that he, Obama, has just eliminated his ONLY legitimate moderate GOP opponent for 2012.

I find this fascinating and akin to them being excited about the GOP losing Spectre and how that hurts GOP prospects for the future. Really? Losing a RINO is bad? Because why? The move to the left has been soooo successful for the GOP and the nation?

The big difference between Spectre and Huntsman is that a few people in the GOP have at least heard of Spectre.

The PR battle continues; Did the GOP fail the nation by choosing policies that were;

A; to far to the right?

or

B; to far too the left?

Eliminated? That's interesting. The papers recently have been comparing Obama himself to another former ambassador to China - who went on to become President.

On the other hand, I'd never heard of him until today. Utah is far and away the most conservative state in the union, often voting Republican better than 70%. It's not as though they can't replace him with an able Republican every bit as savvy as this man is. Who could also run in 2012.

I reported in my column this week the news the Tea Party-bashing MSM doesn’t want to report: Republicans who supported the bailouts, the stimulus, and tax increases are in just as much hot water as Democrats. I told you that California GOP chairman Ron Nehring and GOP Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger were booed in Sacramento and GOP Gov. Jon Huntsman was booed in Utah.
Michelle Malkin » Another Republican booed by Tea Party protesters

Another RINO gone, big deal.
