Thumbs up Bush: It’s ‘liberating’ to be out of office

Bush: It's 'liberating' to be out of office - More politics- msnbc.com

Quote:
ARTESIA, N.M. - It was a humbling moment for the former commander in chief: President George W. Bush was walking former first dog Barney in his new Dallas neighborhood when it stopped in a neighbor's yard for relief.

"And there I was, former president of the United States of America, with a plastic bag on my hand," he told a group of graduating high school students in New Mexico on Thursday. "Life is returning back to normal."

Bush, in one of his few public appearances since leaving office in January, told the students that leaving office lifted a heavy burden.

"I no longer feel that great sense of responsibility that I had when I was in the Oval Office. And frankly, it's a liberating feeling," he told seniors from Artesia High School.
I'm glad he's happier now. Whether you agreed with his policies or not, Mr. Bush is a class act and a good guy. I just can't imagine the kind of stress he was under during his 8 year Presidency.

Yes, it really is quite liberating for everyone else too.

If I were Bush, I'd do the same thing. He's taken a beating for every single thing he's done in the past 8 years, and even things he didn't do. He's been lied about, misquoted, sneered at, and viciously ripped apart. It's unlikely he wants to hang around and keep being the whipping boy of the Left.

If Cheney wants to do that, good for him. But I don't blame George Bush one little bit for saying,, #### all ya'll, I'm going back to the ranch.

Especially for the scum at GITMO and their Al-Quaeda brethen. Knowing the leader of their enemy is a eunuch must take a lot off their minds.

The taxpayers of America - not so much.

Wow, I actually agree with you.

Well, he's not interested in the tit for tat type of politics. His parents are also opposed to it, and I think in some way GW might be honoring them & out of respect for his parents' wishes, won't participate in it. He said he wouldn't criticize this president and he's staying true to his word.

Saying he wont criticise the new President has been like giving the new President a license to criticise George Bush.

Beng a whipping boy in absentia, isnt class.

If Obama expects Bush to keep his vow he needs to get off the anti-Bush rhetoric.

I certainly dont expect a man like George Bush to turn himself into a pain in the ass like Jimmy Carter or Bill Clinton who are still trying to build their sorry legacies into something positive, but damn, take up for yourself man.

If someone throws a bucket of crap at you, DUCK.
