Looks like the Republican woman are the ones out there trying to git 'er done.

Her immediate focus is on raising her five kids, she says, but Palin proved that’s no insuperable obstacle to public service (even if one of those kids is, er, pregnant). Besides, time isn’t on LC’s side. Even though she’s young and has carved out a sweet media niche for herself over the last few months as a charming, mom-ish version of her dad, once he fades from the political scene, she necessarily will too unless she can build some independent national role for herself in the meantime.

Oh, yeah - last week during the Palin resignation brouhaha - I heard 1 tiny blurb about Sarah having consulted with "prominent" Republicans in the days leading up to her statement. Dick Cheney was one of the names mentioned.

After seeing the way the press eviscerated Sarah Palin and her family, Liz Cheney would be a fool to subject herself and loved ones to that ugliness. Overnight she will become dumb, vain, controlling, a criminal, an adulteress, her children will be illegitimate and anyone she so much as speaks to will become Keith Olbermann's Worst Person in the World.

Like any other fascist regime, the best you can do with the Leftists is keep your head down and stay off their radar screen. Otherwise they will destroy not only your life, but the lives of anyone even remotely associated with you. (They learned this from their mentors, Hitler and Saddam.)

Yes, on the one hand I say the same thing. But Liz Cheney does have an extensive resume & background & knows her stuff. Her dad has been in politics for years, so she knows the score, so to speak. And she doesn't strike me as any kind of shrinking violet.

If it were going to be just about Liz Cheney, that would be one thing. But her whole family will be drug through the mud, subjected to lies and slander. I would never do that to my kids. Or my parents. Or my aunts and uncles. Or people that I went to elementary school with and haven't seen or spoken to in 35 years.

That is a sad truth - especially given that her father is THE Darth Cheney. You thought they eviscerated Palin...

That said, somebody has to have the balls to stand up to the Leftists and take them on; if the dolts currently in power will not do it, then someone else should.

Liz seems to be a knowledgeable woman and I think she can probably hold her own against liberal loons that will come after her (even stronger than usual due to her undauntable last name.)
