Even dumber than the time he claimed Caterpillar had promised to re-hire workers if the stimulus passed, only to have the CEO tell reporters about five minutes later that the stimulus wouldn’t work fast enough to let them re-hire workers.

And the Mayo shall lead us:

Although there are some positive provisions in the current House Tri-Committee bill – including insurance for all and payment reform demonstration projects – the proposed legislation misses the opportunity to help create higher-quality, more affordable health care for patients. In fact, it will do the opposite.

In general, the proposals under discussion are not patient focused or results oriented. Lawmakers have failed to use a fundamental lever – a change in Medicare payment policy – to help drive necessary improvements in American health care. Unless legislators create payment systems that pay for good patient results at reasonable costs, the promise of transformation in American health care will wither. The real losers will be the citizens of the United States.

Presumably the problems with the House bill could be solved via negotiations if the Democrats were interested first and foremost in producing a good bill. Which, of course, they’re not. Anyone notice/post this little nugget from the Obamacare bill?

H.R. 3200 is the Democrat healthcare bill.

Section 1233 of H.R. 3200. The section, titled “Advanced Care Planning Consultation” requires senior citizens to meet at least every 5 years with a doctor or nurse practitioner to discuss dying with dignity.

The section requires that they talk to their doctor, not a lawyer, about living wills, durable healthcare powers of attorney, hospice, etc. Given the progressive intelligentsia already being on the record in favor of euthanizing the elderly, it is no small leap to see where the Democrats are headed with this.

Legally forcing senior citizens to have “death with dignity schedules every few years is just another way to say the government wants to make sure seniors know it is time to commit suicide to save the system money.

I agree Larry, but that's not what's going to happen. They are going to force this healthcare down our throats because it's good for us and they know best. Just like everything else, our opinions don't matter.

Godamn it, I am sooooo sick and tired of 'it's not gonna happen...' in response to what is going on with OUR government, time after time, with solutions most agree with. It, good ideas, WILL happen if we make it happen.

The GOP'ers ran things for 6 years. That DID happen. The Dems wrested back power. It DID happen. Incumbents, obviously, lose or there could be no transfer of power. Obama did win.

Do NOT vote for people you don't support. DO send notes to your reps. DO support people you DO support.

And it WILL happen.

Damn it.
