opinions please..

Exclusive: Rush Unleashed, Parts 1 and 2 - Greta Van Susteren | On The Record With Greta - FOXNews.com

Here is a quote from Rush on Greta Van Susteren:

This is hideous. This is not about health care, it's about control. It's about remaking the country, the economy. Look, proof of my point here that the joblessness is on purpose -- if your number one signature issue is health care -- and his is -- and if, which is true, that health insurance is not portable when you lose your job, what's the best thing you can do for yourself? Create unemployment. The more people unemployed, the more people losing their health insurance, the more people scared to death, the more people clamoring for it, Please save my health insurance, Please give me health insurance. I'm scared because they've been drummed into the fact that there's something in this country killing them every day, from coffee to nicotine to whatever it is.

Now I love mr. Rush. He makes SENSE to me. I don't disagree with him often. it happens, but not often. But this paragraph is getting to me..I cannot decide if this is really smart, or a little nutty...any opinions?

If GM and Chrysler had been allowed to go into chapter 11 bankruptcy, unemployment in the mid-west would probably be lower.

Every time the minimum wage increases, unemployment goes up.

Sure seems like the government does a lot to increase unemployment.

Do you read much political history? Obama isn't some lawyer who just happened to get in politics and woke up one day in the White House. Nor was Bush some hapless dude just trying to make sense of it all. Or Clinton or 41 or Reagan.

These people are NOT stupid. They know how they make decisions and they have intimate knowledge of what has worked and why or why not over the years.

If you just simply accept, at face value, that Obama, based on his own words and his policy ideas, is a socialist, then it is a pretty simple thing to view his polices in the macro sense; how they will likely impact the nation.

Obama's ideas, to say the least, do not benefit from Americans taking a self reliant attitude about their life and their liberty and their pursuit of happiness.

People seem to fall into two categories..either Obama is doing it on purpose...or he is woefully ignorant and really believes he is helping unfortunates. I am not sure which to believe. I do not like to think that he is intent on destroying the U.S since it is the U.S that gave him the advantages that he has enjoyed but to say he has purposely created unemployment doesn't make sense..yes healthcare is his core issue...but unemployment looks bad on him as well....

He's not intend on 'destroying' the US but, he, and any socialist or communist or collectivist, is intent on changing the US, fundamentally, in ways many or even most of us would see as destructive.

Nope

You can't make a glittering generality about an increase in the minimum wage results in an increase in unemployment. Of course, it does sound good doesn't it? And when Rush says it with his distinctive air of authority, it sounds even better.

But the fact (and I apologize for using such a word) remains that study after study concludes the opposite. Princeton did one and the results showed an increase in employment.

Non sense. Utter, total nonsense. When labor costs go up, companies have several choices;

expect more from the people they have to make up for it.
get rid of some people AND expect more from others
absorb the increase out of profits
pass the increase on to customers
some combination of the above

You'll note that there is no 'hire more people' choice.

Fox and Friends was interviewing a MA businesswoman this morning who said she had to sell two business trucks and release one employee due to MA healthcare costs. If The O's plan passes, she estimates her costs rising by a factor of 4.

How crazy is that? The O is doing things that weaken business and raise unemployment. People want insurance, so they take all they can get, the government coverage. Even that is so costly to businesses it causes unemployment to rise further.

And then, all the little guys go out of business and the middle and big guys take over. And America has fewer and fewer individuals running their own affairs.

Which is the socialists' dream, correct? Sooner or later, all businesses either go out or are bought out until the only provider is the government. They provide your income, health care, energy, et al. You're happy when they have assigned you that week for your vacation and told you where you will be going. And all this you submit to for 'the greater good'.

The joys we have to look forward to.
