I guess maybe I missed the part where she breaks out in song and starts singing, "let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me", huh?

Oh, I could barely control myself from barfing at this - if she'd desecrated that song (one of my favorite songs when I was in GS) by attempting to sing it, I might well have had to shoot the TV!
