Signs of the times...

Millions go to signs flagging stimulus projects - Washington Times

Quote:
The road signs, which let motorists know the paving and construction projects they see are being paid for by the $787 billion economic stimulus program, have popped up across the country. In a 52-45 vote, the Senate decided the signs should stay.

"Why on earth would you want to hide from the American people the fact that the recovery package we passed is putting people to work?" asked Sen. Barbara Boxer, California Democrat, who took the lead in defending the expenditure. She said stimulus spending is beginning to improve the economy and charged that Republicans and Democrats who voted to strip out the funds are angry about that success.
Because, Senator, the signs I've seen are on projects that started before Obama took office. So, it lends to the cynicism about the program and what it actually does.

I dont believe we have to worry about seeing any of these signs in Southern Maryland.

Whatever stimulus money Maryland got was spent in Baltimore and Annapolis, we didnt see any of it that I can think of. O'Malley doesnt know that we exist down here.

We should all be grateful for the Obama economic recovery.

There was a stimulus package that was passed before Obama took office. Perhaps that accounts for it.....

My question is.....why waste money on signs to begin with? Just get the project done already!
