Public Option Favored By 65% Of Americans

"A New York Times/CBS poll found that 65% of respondents want a public health care option, while only 26% opposed such a plan.

However, respondents said that President Obama had not been clear on health care reform. Fifty-five percent said he had not explained his plan clearly, and many felt under-informed about the policies under discussion.

The Senate Finance Committee will vote on a government-run health insurance option Friday.

"We're going to have a full blown debate in the Finance Committee," said Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), a backer of the public option. While it may be an "underdog," Schumer said, "don't count it out."

Good. Make it so. Vote it into being you ####ing lying cowards.

Go ahead. Put your money where your very big mouths are and we'll just see how many of that 65% even know what the #### you're proposing let alone going to do to this nation, let alone like it. I can't wait to see you explain away 'end of life' panels or just why it's become a 4 hour office wait instead of 30 minutes or why 'no tax increases' cost $2 trillion or just how all those illegals are now, magically, citizens and it costs another $1 trillion. Or you get to see some wet behind the ears internist instead of a doctor.

Go ahead. Have at it. Bring it on.

They must have polled some real intelligent people....

65% of the people are in favor of the plan, yet 55% of the whole group polled didn't understand the plan.... Sounds like they polled the same crowd that Howard Stern interviewed before the election.

The poll was conducted in June, does anyone think opinions have changed since then? A typical Huffpo tactic, find when someone was somewhat supporting the public option to compete with the other options. Here is a link to the the poll. http://www.cbsnews.com/htdocs/pdf/CB...ealth_care.pdf

I wonder what the results would have been if the same people were asked if they wanted government run insurance in the first place.

Im pretty sure the numbers would have been much much lower.

Im all for an option. The option of , do you want to contribute to this tax to give insurance to the millions that sit on welfare and refuse to work.

the ONLY people that deserve insurance protection are those that have a REAL disability that keeps them from working or those that were LAYED OFF FROM A PAYING JOB, and as soon as the get back on their feet, the insurance goes away.

Those ignorant SOBs that pretend to have some disability so they can sit on their backside and collect public money deserve nothing.

I watched Greta van Susteran last night, she had on a Senator who was remarking about health care.

He stated that so far there isnt a bill that anyone can read, just concepts, and people putting concepts together like a big jig saw puzzle, and Democrats pushing to pass this mess as a bill that none of them have ever seen.

Why the Rush?? We are looking at placing a multi-trillion dollar burden on the American public and they want it done without a reading, without an investigation into what's in it, without allowing the American citizen to give any input.

They have all gone crazy.
