Money is a great thing when it comes to who is guilty. Michael Jackson Ted Kennedy O.J. Simpson If it werent for money and influence these people would rot in jail where they belonged. The one I would like to see in jail is this child's mother who took her to this rapists lair , and is equally responsible for the entire episode.

Tell that to the mother whose child was murdered 35 years ago and they finally found the killer. Tell that to the one who HAD to sit in a prison for 2, 3, 5, 35 years for a crime he did commit. Hollywood moguls are pressuring California lawmakers to do what they can to stop the extradition of Roman Polanski, aiming to prevent the Oscar-winning director from being forcibly returned to the U.S. to do time for raping a 13-year-old girl in the 1970s. The only problem — the government isn't interested. http://http://www.foxnews.com/story/...tml?test=faces This may be the only thing Obama isn't interested in... Oh, wait, how far is Denmark from Switzerland? Maybe that was the real objective... ![]()

| Strung Out | This is NOT murder. The girl is alive and, it seems, well.

| No, it's not murder, but it's still a heinous crime. And, yes, it appears that the victim is fine. And praise God for that. However, it is just another miscarriage of justice that someone has gotten away with. But what if it was your 13-year old daughter? I can't imagine you wouldn't want justice served. I know I would.

Someone mentioned the parents role in this and that is also a part of the equation; they GAVE their child over to Polanski. Where were they? Why was there no chaperone? They failed their kid to some extent. As for Polanski now, as far as I am concerned, whatever the crime earns as a penalty today is appropriate. He skipped out on what it may have been then so, if it's worse today, to bad for him. He cheated. He can and should still pay.

As for the parents, IMO, if what has been stated is true, they deserved to be punished. They absolutely failed their child, but unless we know all their circumstances (did they trust this guy, did they have a formidable relationship with him, had they left their daughter alone with him before with no consequences, etc.), we'll not know for sure. However, I've yet to find any evidence that this was actually the case. But, keep in mind, that my depth of investigation has reached the far recesses of foxnews.com and, well, yep, that's about it. And Polanski should have a whole boatload more to worry about than just serving time for having sex with a minor: fleeing and eluding, bail jumping (hey new sports for those Chicago games!). I have no idea if additional charges could be filed against him, but they most certainly should. The man took the coward way out rather than owning up and paying his time because he felt he was a mind reader and "knew" that the judge was going to prosecute him to the fullest extent because he refused to accept the plea bargain. Sorry, don't know why this one hit such a hot button for me. I'm absolutely tired to death of people seeing themselves as above the law and expecting things to just "go away." But for the victim's sake, I hope it gets taken care of once and for all and she can move on with her life. I'm sure it's had to haunt her all these years regardless of how well she has coped with it. ![]()
