Olympic rejection?

If you are happy that we didn't get the Olympics, is it because you never like it when we host or is it because Obama didn't get what he wanted?

If you are sad we didn't get the Olympics, is it because you're always happy when we do or you're just sad because your hero didn't get what he wanted?

I admit it; I am happy we didn't get it BECAUSE I am sick of him and his incessant narcissism. That makes me feel wrong about this as an American but, the fact of the matter is I just think less and less of him as our leader.

I'm happy we didn't get it because I don't the we can afford it and I don't think it would have been in our best interest for the world to know what thugs we truly are when all the news reports would have started coming out about all of the out of town visitors being accosted.

This, in a nutshell. And his naive arrogance that he has a "gift". I'm glad that the world has started to see some tarnish on him.

The apology tour did that for him.

I think they made the right decision, Brazil is a better choice than the U.S.

"I honestly believe it is Brazil's time," Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva told the IOC voters. "For the others it will be just one more Games. For us it will be an unparalleled opportunity."

Obama and his fat reared wife and okra should have stayed home! What a DB! Really, did he really think it was a good use of 5 million dollars so he could go make an empassioned seven minute speech, so Blagovich and all the other cronies could scam there way into some of the Olympic GOLD. Heres a reality check. Do your homework. No city that has ever hosted the olympics has made a profit once the cost of all the construction, security, transportation infrastructure, etc has been costed out. Typical Government waste at the highest office. Not to mention the carbon footprint for all the planes that were involved. Smooth Move BARACK!

I don't think you are wrong at all to feel that way. zerO has apologized for the arrogance of America on multiple stages around the world in a most transparent fashion. By the end of zerO's reign of terror, the world will yearn for the days of George Bush .

Ha-ha Obamas. Ha-Ha Oprah. Sad day when you have to realize the rest of the world doesn't think you are as great as you do.

My problem, and ultimately my joy in his not getting the bid here, lie not in my dislike for him, or my dislike for the Olympics.
My problem is that he seems to have forgotten that the United States covers more land mass than just Chicago, and it is occupied with more than just minorities.

So, I'm glad he failed because I'm tired of watching him bend over backwards to make sure his buddies are taken care of.

oh, and maybe it will help slap some modesty into him and his wife.

I'm glad, but my reason isn't listed.

I don't think Chicago would have been putting our best foot forward for the Olympics.

I wish they were coming to the US, just not to Chicago.

A million foreigners coming to my country, and going back home explaining to all their friends how screwed up it is because all they experienced was Chicago..

Chicago, like our President, has much more important things to worry about, and adding the Olympics to their plate would have been too much.

Stop kids from getting killed IN your schools, then come back and talk to me about the Ollympics.
