Does median household income include the homeless? Does it compare single family households with 4ish people, compared to other households that may have more people?

"Median" means you take everyone and find the spot in the middle where 50%of the people are above that number and 50% are below.

Her use of $50,000 is correct. She's not including assets but, her basic argument is 100% spot on. If she can have a free, median house, median car, median healthcare, then $50k a year takes care of everything else she desires.
