Add 'em in there. You are entitled under convention wisdom rules of 2009.

I mean, seriously, raise your hand if you don't want a free house, free utilities, free car and free healthcare, plus $4000 a month to piss away as you see fit.

Anyone?

$133 a day? Get out of here. Key West would cost me $500 a day, just for starters.

His mother can do that stuff. She hates birds and is a great tipper because I was her Jedi master and she's at one with the force.

Her use of $50,000 is correct. She's not including assets but, her basic argument is 100% spot on. If she can have a free, median house, median car, median healthcare, then $50k a year takes care of everything else she desires.
I'm well aware of what median is (although it should have been done using mean for this type of discussion). My point was regarding the term "household". What defines a household? Is every American part of a household, whether they actually live in one or not? If everyone is going to be given the same amount of money, then wouldn't it be per person (even if it differs by age) and not per household? Would a household with 8 people receive the same money as a household with 1 or 2?

Well, if you're going to be a tick, how about if we divvy it up between all adults 18+?

But see, then that wouldn't be fair because a married couple would receive twice as much as some poor single Mom. The childless married couple would make out like bandits, while the Mom has to raise her kids on half as much.

We could divvy it up between ALL citizens, but there are a couple of problems with that:

First, I know I'd adopt a few kids so I'd get more money. Then I could just keep them in the basement or something.

Second, what about undocumented citizens? They vote - why shouldn't they get their part of the American dream?

Household is the only fair way to go. There's no need for 8 people in a house when houses are free and they can all have their own.

Multiple houses would be out of the question - one house per family. And one car per family.
Since you're technically married, you'd be fine with moving back in with Larry.

Nope - the farmhouse is legally part of the greenhouse, so Larry can still live there and it's not considered a second home. Someone else can have the Ivy Hill house because we're trying to sell it anyway.
