Doubts About Obama's Presidency

Quote:
There has been a growing narrative taking hold about Barack Obama’s presidency in recent weeks: that he is loved by many, but feared by none; that he is full of lofty vision, but is actually achieving nothing with his grandiloquence.

Chicago’s dismal showing yesterday, after Mr Obama’s personal, impassioned last-minute pitch, is a stunning humiliation for this President. It cannot be emphasised enough how this will feed the perception that on the world stage he looks good — but carries no heft.

It was only the Olympic Games, the White House will argue — not a high-stakes diplomatic gamble with North Korea. It is always worthwhile when Mr Obama sells America to the rest of the world, David Axelrod, his chief political adviser, said today. But that argument will fall on deaf ears in the US. Americans want their presidents to be winners.

Mr Obama was greeted — as usual — like a rock star by the IOC delegates in Copenhagen — then humiliated by them. Perception is reality. A narrow defeat for Chicago would have been acceptable — but the sheer scale of the defeat was a bombshell, and is a major blow for Mr Obama at a time when questions are being asked about his style of governance.
Obama's Olympic failure will only add to doubts about his presidency - Times Online

I'm adding this comment from the column as it echoes my thoughts.

Anyway, its more or less in a time zone that will help the US commercial channels and advertisers push their products (unlike the Seoul, Sydney, Beijing and Athens Games) which should help corporate America no end to sell lots of stuff people don't need.

Eh. Some you win, some you lose. Chicago was a lousy pick of cities anyway.

The problem with Obama is dilution. Pick an anlogy; if he is medicine and all the problems we face are the disease, he spreads himself to thin to be effective. His argument is that he can do all things well and that simply isn't true.

Bush focused on too few things. Obama is focused, such as it is, on too many things.

The appearence of the "Almighty One" and the great sacrifice that was made by Michelle Obama and the "Great Orca" by making the trip to Copenhagen, just wasn't enough.
Does this transcend to his Presidency? No, but it does show that the leaders of the world are not enamored with this false prophet and all the appeasement and apolagies that this Community Organizer makes only strengthens their resolve.

Tucker Carlson(sp?) was on Fox News this morning, and his view is that our messiah screwed up, in making the "sacrificial" trip to Denmark. He humiliated himself and the USA with that gambit.

Thousands of people were amassed in Chicago, signs everywhere, like "IMAGINE!" and "CHICAGO 2016!", Jesse Jackson was there, making his pitch, too.

They all went home stunned and saddened, that the dream did not come true.

Perhaps our messiah is losing his aura.....

Perhaps it was just photoshopped.

Question is this: Does Obama really know what the heck he's doing there in the Oval Office, or, is he relying on the advice of the 25 - 30 Czars, that pretend to know what is going on?

Rumor has it that he would not have taken that trip to Denmark, were it not for some dickweed, that told/convinced him, it was a worthy cause.......
