If G. W. Bush....

If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter
Installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have
Laughed and said this is more proof of how he inept he is on his own and is
Really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?

If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura
Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan's holdings of GM stock
By 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have
Approved?

If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special
Olympics, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and
Incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful
And historically significant gift, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos
Of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic
And tacky?

If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia , would you have
Approved?

If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the
Non-existent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor
Slip?

If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with
People who cannot seem to keep current in their income taxes, would you
Have approved?

If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to "Cinco de
Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May
(Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you
Have winced in embarrassment?

If George W. Bush had mis-spelled the word "advice" would you have
hammered Him for it for years like Dan Quayle and potatoe as proof of what a dunce he Is?

If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a
Single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he's a hypocrite?

If George W. Bush's administration had okayed Air Force One flying low
Over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan
Causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually
Get what happened on 9-11?

If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims
Throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in
New Orleans , would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue
With claims of racism and incompetence?

If George W. Bush had created the position of 32 Czars who report directly to
Him, bypassing the House and Senate on much of what is happening in America,
Would you have approved.

If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major
Corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so,
Would you have approved?

If George W Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken
More than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have
Approved?

If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10
Years, would you have approved?

So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and
Impressive? Can't think of anything? Don't worry. He's done all this in 5
Months -- so you'll have three years and seven months to come up with an
Answer.

Barbara Bush & Laura Bush, in that order, would kick his a** & never allow such things to happen in the first place!

I read a story about George & Laura before the election back in 2000. I was not a big fan of Bush before the nomination, but I also didn't know much about him. In the story, he apparently got a little full of himself on one campaign stop - talkin' big Texas talk, etc. When re-telling this in the interview - Laura said every now & then she has to tell him to "reign it in, Bubba".

Because of the undying respect & devotion he showed to her whenever he spoke of her -in or out of her presence - I knew he was a good man. Because she is a damn fine lady.

No way would he make that mistake. Jeb would kick his a**.

Is today one of those days where you've heard just one too many stupid-azz things done by our illustrious leader?

Actually, Baja28 has had the not-so-unique experience, as some of us have, to notice(be pizzed off) at just a few :ahem: - accomplishments, or should I say MISaccomplishments - of the Won, who currently occupies the Oval Office, in our homeland, OUR - US of America.

I am totally with him, in this assessment!

I was trying to lighten the mood a little bit!

Reading down through that list of things got me all angry again and then I got depressed! I absolutely HATE politics and now I'm so angry about how things are going that I'm going to have to go and get hands-on involved and I'm going to hate every single minute of it, which pizzes me off even more! So There!

Excuse me, Baja28, and the rest of you forum members. I did not realise, nor did I know/expect, what my words may have unleashed!

Twinoaks207 may have a few more thoughts for our purview.........

Are you all ready?

I love politics, but the state of our country is pi**ing me off, too, and that's why I'm getting involved.

I might only be able to make phone calls for candidates, etc, but I will be active in 2010. Especially if Charles Lollar is running against Steny.

If I can offer an answer, a statement of my feelings, it might be this: What Baja28 has summed up, is a current view of what this administration has done, OR not done for us, the people who voted this CLOWN into office.

This is the same guy, who has - at his beck and call - any number of radicals, marxists, terrorists, lesbians, and homosexuals, with which he chooses to advise HIMSELF! AT HIS pleasure!

So, you and I, and the rest of our society, should sit still and not take notice of where we are undoubtedly heading?? Is that what we are expected to do?

No effing way, pal! (that is not meant to be personal to you, in any way, shape, or form) You are a good person.

Okay, but remember, you asked for it!

thoughts:
  1. To paraphrase Baja, I'm a WHITE, STRAIGHT, MARRIED, EMPLOYED, NRA CARD, REPUBLICAN FEMALE, WHO ALSO HAS AN AARP AND A UNION CARD. How else can I piss you off today?
  2. When I grow up, I want to be just like Leno's Fruitcake Lady, and I'm already close enough!
  3. You know what they say about menopausal women? Well, it's true!
  4. I have no tolerance for people who expect a handout for every little thing and are not willing to lift a finger to do anything to earn it!
  5. I believe that everyone has some "tough breaks" in life and the best thing to do is just deal with it as best you can and move on! The world does not owe you a thing -- you owe the world!
  6. It IS the "content of the character" damn it and when will people realize that and act accordingly!
  7. We need to vote everyone out of office and start from scratch -- the "change" will be good for us!
  8. Our government should be equally composed of city-dwellers and rural folk -- maybe then we'd stand half a chance of having federal laws make sense.
  9. Each politician should be required to pass a test concerning the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution (with at least an 80% passing rate the first time). The score required to pass should go up with each successive term until it hits 100%, yielding "No Politician Left Behind"!
  10. Income tax should be a flat percentage and the Federal budget outlay must equal the intake in taxes -- no exceptions! If we don't have the money, we don't do it!
Is that enough to start with?

Oh, and seeing as how I'm going to end up getting myself involved in politics, I should probably warn you that a lot of my college courses (undergrad & grad) involved communications, research, debate, persuasion, media, etc. You all should be afraid...be very afraid....
